Government Affairs Leadership Academy

Government Affairs Academy has been renamed "Government Affairs Leadership Academy" or GALA. 

The inaugural GALA cohort has limited space for 24 participants. 

Participants will join their peers in learning how to protect their businesses, develop leadership skills, expand industry knowledge, and grow their network. GALA will offer valuable training in navigating government affairs issues and advocating for the industry – all while preparing attendees for leadership roles in their companies and within HPBA. 

Kicking off with an in-person session at the HPBExpo 2024 in Nashville, GALA will offer virtual sessions throughout the year, with sessions including:

• Hearing perspectives from industry leaders
• Substantive issues updates 
• Codes & standards primer 
• Case studies of industry testimony making an impact at the state and local levels 

The GALA journey will culminate in a trip to Washington, DC, where participants will have an opportunity to make their voices heard by meeting members of Congress. After a year of learning, GALA grads will convene for a final session at HPBExpo 2025 in New Orleans and take part in welcoming the next class.
